French stage director Claire Pasquier is invited to a joint residency at La Monnaie / De Munt and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence to follow the creative process of the participatory opera Orfeo & Majnun (Dick Van der Hast, Moneim Adwan, Howard Moody) directed by Airan Berg in Brussels and revived in Aix-en-Provence. Orfeo & Majnun is an inclusive, intercultural and multilingual music theatre project developed with a participatory community-driven approach.

Session 2 : 1-8 July 2018
As a former participant of the Building participatory opera projects workshop that was organised at the Dutch National Opera in November 2017, Claire Pasquier was interested in deepening her experience on the topic.
The first session of her residency is hosted by La Monnaie / De Munt in Brussels during the opera creation of a European large scale participatory project Orfeo & Majnun. She is invited to the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence for the revival of this participatory opera wich involves amateurs and local communities.
