7-8 December 2024, Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg
Set on a fictionalised public bus as it travels through South London, facing the upheaval and uncertainty of gentrification and displaced communities, a diverse group of young people are thrown into peril when their bus is hi-jacked by Alt and Far-Right terrorists looking to oust the attacker/s of a popular Alt-Right podcaster. Ideologies, identities and loyalties collide as the passengers and their communities are confronted with the growing violence on their doorstep. In their schools. On their airways.
As the non-linear narrative unfolds, the personal stories of our young people shatter and fragment, taking us into the heart of what it means to be a young person navigating the contemporary world. Utilising gaming techniques and technology, LINK IN MY BIO, at key moments, will task the audience to collectively vote on the direction of the narrative and the fate of our passengers.
With a creative team that reflects the diverse and inclusive world of our opera, the co-creators of LINK IN MY BIO consist of a dynamic quartet of theatre-makers and musical storytellers whose roots are in participatory and non-hierarchical collaboration.
