Don Giovanni

The famous Italian bass-baritone Ruggero Raimondi will offer a workshop based on Mozart’s Don Giovanni

During the workshop the participants will prepare the whole opera, working with Maestro Raimondi in interpretation, staging and vocal technique. The workshop will conclude with a public semi stage performance of the opera, accompanied by piano.

 

As part of the workshop the participants will also work with an Italian phonetic coach (Cecilia Folleti) and with 2 piano répétiteurs (Madalit Lamazares and Duncan Gifford), so that they benefit at maximum from their work with Maestro Ruggero Raimondi.

 

In addition, in order to provide music students with tools and skills to develop their artistic careers and to encourage them to bring classical music closer to society, a participative talk about entrepreneurship will be offered, with the prestigious leading pioneer in the field of arts Management and music education Tony Woodcock.

 

This workshop is part of a three workshops cycle on Mozart.

 Application process

- the artist must be connected to one of the 13 enoa member institutions
- the artist must contact his/her sending institution, which decides if they recommend his/her application
- the hosting institution confirms the list of participants after the registration deadline
- the network assumes the responsibility for the training fees, the costs of accommodation and travel 
- per-diem are paid or not according to each institution’s internal rules

 Specifications

- it is not compulsory to participate in all three workshops
- if you are interested in applying to the cycle, please inform the enoa institution you are connected to.

 Practical information

Public Performances: The workshop will conclude with a public semi stage performance of the opera

Quota: 3 singers and 1 stage director recommended by enoa institutions / 8 singers from the hosting institution

Selection Criteria: Biography / Audio links (please include at least one Mozart excerpt)

Tessitura: Casting is open to every role

Programme to prepare: Mozart’s Don Giovanni complete roles by heart

Specific expectations: Roles must be fully prepared by heart before arrival. Applicants for Leporello role are strongly encouraged to apply
