Swiss stage director Nina Russi is invited to a joint residency at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence to follow the creative process of the new production of The Fiery Angel (Prokofiev) directed by Mariusz Treliński in Warsaw and its revival in Aix-en-Provence.

Session 2 : 22 June - 5 July 2018
As a young stage director, Nina Russi was interested in exchanging and reflecting about actual challenges in stage directing and the opera world with fellow young creators and experienced opera makers.
The first session of her residency took place from 7th to 14th May 2018 in Warsaw where she was immersed in the life of the Teatr Wielki during the production of The Fiery Angel. She had the opportunity to accompany the creative team, to meet with the administation of the theatre and the artists of the Akademia Operowa for outreach projects.
Her second session will take her to the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence where the production of Mariuz Treliński will be revived in July 2018.
Nina is currently assistant stage director at the Zurich Opera. She presented her first chamber opera, Der Traum von dir (composition by Xavier Dayer), in December 2017.
