LAB - The Sleeping Thousand

at the Helsinki Festival

20 - 23 August 2016

The Helsinki Festival invited creative teams to work on their opera projects, based on the Orpheus Myth, with performers. The participants learned group work methodologies in order to create a music theatre fragment of their project and received group coaching in improvisation and communication skills. The LAB ended with a public presentation.

During this LAB, composer Adam Maor and author and stage director Yonatan Levy developed their new opera project, The Sleeping Thousand, with Anat Spiegel (vocalist), Elisabet Petsalo (mezzo-soprano), Satu Halttunen (dancer) and Markus Hohti (cellist).
